Let's set a plan to take a fleet of Island Packet Yachts from the Chesapeake Bay to Block Island, RI, summer 2014. Team Island Spirit will be heading up similar to the way we ran north in 2009.

We will departure from Rock Hall, MD late June 2014 (June 26th ? )and the legs will look like this:

1. Rock Hall MD to CD Canal Engineer Cove, anchor or dock

2. CD Canal to Cape May NJ, anchor or dock

3. Cape May NJ to Atlantic City NJ, anchor or dock

4. Atlantic City NJ to Sandy Hook, anchor or dock

5. Sandy Hook to Long Island Sound, Port Washington, mooring balls, anchor or dock

6. Port Washington to Duck Island

7. Duck Island to Watch Hill, RI

8. Watch Hill RI to Block Island, RI

Optional route could be direct from Atlantic City NJ to Block Island RI.  This is a 200 mile leg.

The over 1-8 legs allow for day trips and places to anchor every night or take a dock at each location. We usually anchor at these places.

Today is October 30, 2013, and we know we are sailing to Block Island next summer, so why not begin now and plan for a flotilla of Island Packet Yachts?

NOTE: There is a SAIL FEST in New London CT. and this is a must see event due to the Monhegan Sons Fireworks display the week after the 4th.  That should be JULY 12. So, we plan to attend that in New London CT. and most likely will anchor in the harbor. This is also the location of the IP dealer HEILER YACHTS, where you may be aboe to secure a dock as well.
