Blisters was created by cardude
Looking to buy a 2008 IP PY cruiser. During the survey we found the hull to have multiple small blisters in certain areas, with a density of about 25 per square inch.

The hulls is still covered by the IP 10 year hull warranty, and the warranty is transferable to subsequent owners.

Has anyone had experience dealing with IP with a blister problem with this warranty? If so, do they readily repair the blisters or is it a big hassle?

Trying to decide to accept or reject the boat.

I would contact the factory. Anything else would be hearsay. Talk to them about the problem and see what they say. The IP factory is pretty reliable and what they say is what they mean. I would go with their bottom line.
Of course any personal experience would be very valuable but I would still call them with the problem.

By the way we had zero blisters on our survey. I was pretty impressed. Also, don Casey, author of the Bible of boat restoration, "this old boat",, feels that the problem with blisters is overrated and most any professional repair of existing blisters will get you through your ownership. And then some. Given those things, I do not think I wouldn stress too much about the blisters. Best of luck and congratulations.

Thanks for the reply!

Most of the blisters are near the rudder and someone said maybe it is where the hull was faired at that point. Not sure if that makes sense or not.
