Looking for Advice on Barrier Coat, 1985 IP27

Seeking any/all advice on whether or not I should apply barrier coat to the bottom of my IP27. It's a 1985 boat. It's been out of the water for about 2.5 years on a trailer. The PO sanded the old bottom paint off. It's not clear to me if I need a layer of epoxy barrier coat first or not. What do you all think?

UPDATE: Sorted it out locally. It already has a good barrier coat! Just needs some fresh coats of antifouling and should be good to go.
