Screw hole sealant was created by Flyrod
I am redoing my teak, taking off the metal belly bands and chafing plates.

The length and size of screws taken out are not uniform and many came right out with no resistance, meaning not actually biting into the wood.  I actually wrote down the size screw for each hole so I could be the "right" ones back in.

When I put them back in I want to use a sealant and adhesive.

The holes are small so a caulking gun cannot be used.  Should I just dip the screws into either Silpruf, Sikaflex or 3m 5200?

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Brice:
To make the screw bight into the loose hole, take a splinter of teak and hammer it into the hole. This will help. As for caulk, I see no problem with 5200 or 4200 3M.

Hi...on my 350 I’ve replaced many screws as Hayden mentioned with a splinter of teak dipped in epoxy. The epoxy hardens the surrounding wood as well as seals.
