New cabin sole was created by raceboat61-S
Our IP-31 #49 came from it's 2 previous owners with glued-down indoor/outdoor carpet in the main cabin. Upon inspection I found that flooding at some point in the boats previous 25 years had damaged the sole to the extent that it was completely delaminated. Multiple layers of plywood came up with the old carpet. I found a great resource here in the Bradenton area who still works at Island Packet. He's been building IP interiors for almost 30 years. He 'moonlights' doing all sorts of marine woodwork. He measured my floor in about a hour and 2 days later returned to completely remove the old floor and replaced with 3/4 inch Teak & Holly. BEAUTIFUL job. Done in about 6 hours. I sanded and varnished, myself. Cost for labor and materials was only $750 ! Will provide his name and number on request. Mike "Nomad"

Mike:
That is fantastic, I bet it looks really good. Solid Teak and Holly would be much better than the thin plywood. Please send me a message by clicking on my name or profile picture to the left. I would like to contact this person.

Thanks, Hayden

Would you have another telephone number for Randy, the one listed seems to have one too many digits. My thanks, Russ (IP-27)

My buddy has a sheet of teak and holly plywood/veneer to replace my existing floor which is rotten in a couple places. is it possible to get it into the cabin in one piece (is there some secret way lol) or will it need to be cut. i'd rather not have a conspicuous seam, if possible.

thanks

My original cabin sole has water damage. Thinking of replacing with teak, tongue and grove boards, 8ft boards, 2.75 inches wide and 7/16 thick. Any suggestions, or problems I might encounter. Thought this might be better than teak veneer over plywood.
Thanks

See previous contact information for Randy Myrick. If that number doesn't work try contacting him via RNR, a Yanmar dealer/repair in Bradenton, FL. (That is his brother, Rick.
