Biscayne Bay south of Rickenbacker was created by hayden
The area south of the Rickenbacker Causeway Bridge is a DREAM area with anchorages, marinas, mooring fields and plenty of sailing. Again, with East winds you can easily go for a day sail north and south in the protected waters of Biscayne Bay. When you want to drop the hook, you have several places to select from Virginia Cay to Marine Stadium to Elliot Key. Then when the wind picks up with a frontal system, you can move to a mooring ball or dock at Crandon Park State Marina or Dinner Cay Marina or Coconut Grove Sailing Club. Biscayne Bay sailing, cruising and exploring is a dream location.

Here is a picture of the location.

#1. Dinner Key Marina and Coconut Grove Sailing Club are
#2. Anchorage at Virginia Key off the beach
#3. Crandon State Park marina, mooring balls and docks
#4. Anchorage at Key Biscayne, Hurricane Harbor area
#5. Anchorage area at the Marine Stadium

NOAA Chart of the area

Sail north and south, on East trade winds.....beautiful.

We spend most of our time cruising Biscayne Bay primarily between Rickenbacker Causeway and Card Sound; sailing out of the Coconut Grove Sailing Club (CGSC). At the CGSC, we put our favorite destinations on the attached Chart.

...and that is EXACTLY WHY we want to spend 1-2 months sailing this area this winter. Thank you for these great CGSC docs. They really do a great job at Coconut Grove Sailing Club. We love it there.
We will be there Jan and maybe even some of Dec.
