We recently purchased a 1987 IP 31 last May in Florida to use in the winter months. We have been trailering around the country a Hunter 260 for the past 3 years and are ready to not have to set up and tear down for each trip. One of the nice things about our Hunter 260 is the sugar scoop, for access to the water and our dingy. We are in the process of looking into the options of adding a swim platform on our IP 31. After much research, we have found a Starboard material that we can have sized to 72" X 22" through Boat Outfitters. The standard mounting brackets look like there will not be enough room to mount below the deck with all four supports. I'm thinking I would like to set the deck away from the transom a few inches so I can see the exhaust. We are thinking to build a "shelf-like bracket" for the two supports in the middle underneath (only have 8" below swim deck) and a smaller bracket for the outside with the supports going up to the stern on the two outside brackets. Any ideas, thoughts, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are planing all this from Nebraska with the boat being in Florida. We are heading there in November.
Thanks!!!
