I have in mast main furling. I want to switch to a full batten main with track slides and lazyjack flaking system. Is it possible to just remove the furling main and use the track of the mast to place the slides in and the sail to slide in the boom as a conventional main? Seems like a viable way to switch. Maybe the track is too wide for the sail slides or even the boom track. I've heard good and bad about main in mast furling but I've never used one.

Jim:
It looks like you have and IP 35, is that tight? If so, I know of an IP 35 owner that has a Tides Strong Track for sale that you can add to your mast and make the full battened sail slide even better. And yes, I think you can simply take off the furling main sail and go with a regular main sail. Here is a link to the strong track system, if you want this, I can connect you with the owner.
