The way I have seen this done on several ocean IPs is to add a track to the mast with pop rivets and then to keep the storm tri-sail in its bag rigged and lashed to the mast base. The track cam down around the gooseneck in a little bennd and to the bagged area. When needed it gets hoisted up this track about 10-15 feet and the loose footed clew is cleated to the stern cleat.
I have no information on the cloth thickness of dimensions, but I am sure a sailmaker would.
Congrats on your plans, that is amazing.
