WIth the recent hurricane affecting Norfolk, my 2000 IP 350 had water coming in the chain locker through the Hoyt boom connection. Upon closer inspection, I believe the water was coming in through the eye bolt hole. The eyebolt is so lose that it created a bigger hole. It looked like it was just screwed on the deck with no backing.
Any suggestions on replacing this eyebolt? I was thinking of removing it, cleaning up the hole and epoxying it, add epoxy and silica filler, and re-drilling it, but instead of an eyebolt, replace it with a U block with backing. Any advice is appreciated.
