Ronstan Traveler Carriage IP350 was created by sailmeister
The traveler on my IP350 is very difficult to move when the main sheet is loaded, even with little to no wind.   The bearings on the carriage are worn (to be expected on a 1998 sailboat).   I called Ronstan and they no longer support the 38 mm I-Beam system.   Has anyone had the bearings rebuilt on one of these traveler carriages?   Otherwise, I am looking at replacing the current rail with one of the 32 mm i-beams from either Ronstan or Harken.  Interested if anyone else has replaced their traveler system.

Peter:
I think you emailed me a private question about removing the traveler and hood. Once the traveler bolts are removed, then I used a putty knife to cut under the spray hood all the way around, then I could pry up the hood and remove the hood and the traveler.

Hi Peter,
I got Ronstan traveler parts from Rigrite - www.rigrite.com/Travellers/RF_Travellers/RF1293.php. I replaced all the traveler blocks. I didn't replace the car, but looks like they have parts for that. If this link for traveler, isn't the one for your boat, just look around the site. It is quite complete.
Fair Winds,
Drew

Drew - Thanks for the information. Unfortunately RigRite has 1.5" track (RF1313) and some of the blocks, but not the traveler car. I inquired if they knew anyone who could replace/repair the bearings both by email and phone and they have not gotten back to me. www.rigrite.com/Travellers/RF_Travellers/RF1313.php

Hayden - Thank you.   I bought the thinnest 1.5" wide Hyde putty knife I could find and with the nice weather we had last weekend was able to remove the track and hood.
