We have had a problem since the beginning in trying to get the mailsail to come out normally. It seems to pucker, especially at the top. We have Charleston Spars furling, our Ip is a 2003.
Does anyone have any information to help here? Thanks rw

RW:

Can you be a little more specific on the problem?

There are several things that contribute to the RF main not behaving well and you will have to play with them in order to optimize the handling of the sail.

1. Leech Line
2. Boom angle
3. Halyard Tension
4. Furling technique

Once 1 - 3 are sorted out - We never furl the sail using a winch. Try to maintain some pressure on the outhaul as you furl the sail. This will make sure that the sail is properly wound on the foil without any baggy or bunched spots. Have found more often than not if we did not furl the sail properly that it can be a problem when we go to set the sail.
