I may have missed it but I did not see a previous post for this topic.  Does anyone have experience cleaning it, or information about the interior configuration of the tank?  Specifically, I would like to know if there are baffles in the tank.  I am considering cutting an access hole on the stern end to be able to disinfect and scrub the interior.  I have researched specifics about disinfectant solution formulation options specific to aluminum tanks without damage.  It is clear that the only way to truly clean the interior to ensure potability is to get a brush on the interior surfaces.  I have disinfected the water lines and installed a new water heater.  It would appear the source of returning odor is the tank.  I am trying to avoid removing the saloon soul and replacing with a plastic or fiberglass tank.  This is my second IP38 (1st was hull 83) and I know how to maintain the system to keep it healthy.  This boat had been abandoned for 5 years and was a resurrection project and we're getting close to the end.  Any help or insight will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Randy

The water tank smell is not the tank, it is the hoses. Best to mix up a bucket of water and add a cup of bleach, now pull the water tank pick up hose and extend this into the bucket. Now turn on the water and pump water into each and every hose until you smell bleach coming out. Do this at every location. Let it sit in the hoses for an hour or longer, then reconnect the pick up hose and flush out the bleach water.
