PVC to Bronze 4200? was created by hayden
I have rebuilt my plumbing system on IP35-165 and I am looking at these PVC fittings into the Bronze 3-ways. They are very tight, and I used Teflon tape as well. My question is....

Should I also add a layer of 3M 4200 caulk or 3m 5200 around these joints? I do not ever want them to leak, and I do not plan to take this apart for years, so why not?

Hayden:

The teflon tape is a joint sealer so don't waste your time. Any joint sealer, to be totally effective should be on the mating surfaces - not applied on the outside of the joint.
