what stain is used on interior teak? was created by islanddreamer
We're looking to get a custom cabinet made for our 2004 IP445. Finding a similar teak shouldn't be difficult but I'd like to try to stain it with the same stain that was used at the factory on the cabinetry. Does anyone know what stain was used on teak interior cabinets in 2004?

Here is the answer as explained by Bill Bolin.......

.......we used a Sherwin Williams Paste Filler and added some pigment to even out the teak color before varnishing. That formula changed slightly over the years depending on who mixed it and the coloration of the teak. Cheri did a lot of that work and is employed by Hake Marine. She might be able to mix a pint up for sale as we have done in the past.

I was told by the factory a few years ago that the interior varnish was a combination of: 4 parts of Z-spar V975 to 1 part V2067. We have a 1995 IP40.

I believe the V2067 is no longer being sold, but there is an equivalent. You would have to contact Pettit to find that..
