IP420 Diesel Generator Replacement

I am looking for a new diesel generator for my IP420.  My wife likes AC at night.  Any suggestions?

I installed the NEXTGEN Ultra Compact Marine 3.5kW in the starboard cockpit locker on my IP380 several years ago. Very happy with the unit.

Richard, I have a 2002 420 and we replaced the original Panda with a Northern Lights in 2019. Dont have access to model no. at the minute but it has worked very well though we had to run a pretty long fuel line to it in the port lazarette which required an extra fuel pump.

When we purchased our IP 420 (2002) it had a panda genset with 260 hours. I think the longest it worked between repairs was 35 hours, average was about 13 hours. Extremely poor customer to functionally no customer service. Did a lot of research with genset repair technicians. Replaced with a Northern Lights and have been extremely happy. Has been totally reliable. Routine maintenance every 100 hours. It is nice to have something reliable when you want to charge the batteries or put the AC on at night. Only problem was sea grass clogs in the thru-hull raw water cooler. Solved this with Hinged Grocco Strainer on hull.
