When I turn the key on to start the engine I will often get nothing happening, not even a click.  I shift the lever a few times and find neutral again and if I hit it right it will start very easily.  I have an IP 45 #10 with an Edson pedestal and a Morse single lever throttle control.  I examined the wiring and found one male spade connector without wiring attached and a loose male spade connector just hanging.  The wiring that is attached to the loose connector has a leg of wiring that is attached to the neutral safety switch.  I cannot find wiring diagrams that show how it is supposed to be wired.  I don't know if I need to replace the whole throttle control or if a simple re-wiring will fix the problem.  This is intermittent as I said, so I would prefer to fix it.  I can't find good installation instructions on the Edson website or in my owner's manuals .  So the question is twofold, can anyone help me find a wiring diagram or photo of the wiring so I can make sense of how it is supposed to wired, or alternatively tell me where to find a replacement throttle control that will swap out with my old one.  I am the original owner of this 1996 Island Packet.

Same things happens to me if the engine has been off for a while. I think it is a little corrosion that gets into the connection at the starter, but usually she starts up after a couple of tries- and then the corrosion is gone and she fires up no problem. Those spade connectors may not be in use. Check the wiring at the starter for some corrosion, or just spray all the connections there with electric WD-40.
