fuel shut off valve was created by ladycressida
Good morning everyone from a sunny but cool spring day in the UK....I have an IP 37 and I would like a spare fuel shut off valve which sits inline and SITUATED on top of the fuel tank.....I have found that this is the first place any debris collects/jams the fuel and needs disconnecting and clearing....in a seaway this can be quite challenging and the thought of loosing it into the bilge, is not an option, so a spare would be handy.....it looks very USA and I could do with an address /website to purchase another (make and type would also be handy) if a member could oblige. I have had the the fuel polished a couple of times which sorts the debris /gunge problem for a few years but a good seaway can occas. disturb more debris.

Jonty:
I would contact the company that made the fuel tank for Island Packet. That is EZELL INDUSTRIES. ezellindustriesinc.com/ On this home page they have a phone number and a web form to contact them.
I bet they may have these fuel shut off valves.

I have owned IPs since 1991, and I will share with you, that I have never removed this fitting. I have had fuel blockage, and I simply blow backwards via a hose into any fitting to unblock, then reconnect and pump fuel.

Another fuel trick I will share is you can polish your own fuel with some hoses, a simple 12 volt fuel pump from an auto store and your own on board RACOR fuel filter.

Simply make up the hoses and pump so you can connect this to your racor, then turn on the pump and run your own fuel thru your racor and back into your tank. Attach the pich up hose to a rod so you can use it as a prob pushing the pick up hose into the tank at various angles. Run this for a few hours and filter your own fuel tank. That is what I had to do in Puerto Rico after a hurricane when the island was devastated.

Here is a photo of what I made:

I added a 12 volt plug

We had to pump some fuel into a jerry jug because the tank was too full

I changed the fuel fittings on my racor to standard hose barbs, making it easy to connect.

I hope this all helps.
