Gearbox Reduction - IP350 (UK) was created by Osprey
Hello All

I am in the process of purchasing a new Darglow Featherstream folding propeller for our IP350. Unfortunately I have come away from the boat, now stored in its winter shed in Germany, without getting a key bit of information that the propeller manufactures require. Our boat is number 88 circa 2000 with a KBW-10E gearbox. We have the engine and gearbox manual but there are 3 ratios that the gearbox could be. So we need to be sure.

Would anybody know what the gearbox reduction figure is for an IP350 of that age?

Thanks in hope,

Alan Williams

Alan:

We have the KBW10 gear box on our 1994 IP 35 with the 3JH2E 38 hp yanmar. Our gear box is 2.81:1 ratio. We run a 17" fixed three bladed prop with a pitch of 14. Right handed turn. That means when looking from the stern the prop turns clockwise. In one revolution the prop will move forward 14 inches.
See attached picture of our prop.
We have 35,000 nm under this set up.
