I have a recurring problem with the plastic linkage between the gear handle located on the binnacle and the cable leading to the gear transmission on the engine
The area in which it is housed inside the binnacle is tight and the design does not allow the linkage and cable to be aligned such that the linkage and cable are straight. The resulting angle causes stress on the plastic linkage, which then fails so that it is stuck in gear
The engineers who finally worked it out suggest that the gear lever be repositioned either away from the binnacle or build a housing on the binnacle
Has anyone encountered a similar problem and devised a work around?
