Engine throttle control was created by IP27
Hello my name is Marc Leblanc and sail an IP27 #154 out of Shediac New Brunswick Canada. The other day while docking
I put the throttle in reverse to reduce speed and instead slowing down the boat sped up. After hitting the dock with my bow
And securing my lines I started investigating what had happened. The transmission had stuck in forward gear while the throttle
was in reverse position. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and what was the
fix or has anyone replaced the original throttle mechanism with something new and improved.
I really hate striking the Bobstay against anything and want to prevent this from happening again.
Thanks

You probably need have a problem with the cable. It is a fairly easy job. Spend some time examining your old cable, check the operability, and measure it. The replacement is probably like mine. Below is a photo of the type I used.

But it could be that the remote control shift station. All of it needs to be inspected and repaired or maintained regularly.

Another opportunity to learn!
