Thinking about installing a pedestal was created by capediver714
I'd like to get a flush mount GPS unit for my IP26. Im having trouble deciding where to mount it unless I install a pedestal. The cockpit is not huge to begin with, so I'd hate to take up unnecessary room with a pedestal unless I have to. Does anyone else have any ideas on where to mount such a unit? This is not a great photo, but you can see the setup of the cockpit. Helm seat is against the transom with the wheel forward to that.

I have seen this done by mounting them into the cockpit seat back with a fiberglass recess panel. This keeps the unit set dack so you can still lran back on the back rest with the unit below behind the surface.

Ps
Your ip26 is how it all started! Very cool. You need to share more photos, she is a classic!

Thanks! Ill get some more pics up asap. Just had to get a new laptop and havent moved everything over yet.

For the GPS, youre saying install it recessed in the seat back so that it would be behind me when seated? Im having a hard time picturing it.

No, not behind the helm, to the right side of the helm in the side cockpit seat backs. That is what I have seen.
