Solar Vent Problem was created by Vandergraaff
I have gone through several Marinco Solar Vents. While they do a good job they tend to fail within 1-3 years.  It seems to me that the problem is typically in the motor bearings and perhaps a drop of oil could bring them back to life.

I have the 4 inch diameter N20704S model which is now discontinued.
Does anyone know of a unit that will drop right in to the 4 3/4 inch hole now in my deck? (Marinco's new unit is expensive, requires a 5 inch hole, and is also of questionable reliability.
Has anyone tried to find a replacement motor for these?

Thanks in advance,
Art

Ari, I have had the same problem, motor dying, on an Marinco solar vent. I replaced one completely before I became aware of replacement motors that I found on line for basically peanuts compared to purchasing a new Marinco unit. I learned about this from the web but don’t exactly know where this info found. I think if you google Marinco solar vent repair you may find the article I discovered and eventually used to replace the small electric motor on my current solar vent.
