Transducer Sealant was created by Vandergraaff
It's time to replace Duchess' depth transducer, probably about 17 years old.  I understand that the previous unit was installed using 3M 4200, but I have been told to use 5200.  Does anyone have an opinion on which sealant to use to mount a transducer like this?

Thanks,
Art

Here is the answer from our #1 resource, Colin Mack...

"Good morning. I’ve been doing this since 1988 and I can tell you that we always use life caulk and as soon as UV 4000 came out we started using that for general-purpose including transducers as it had a better UV characteristic than the previous products. They both cure underwater which means the splash time is less critical and the 5200 just doesn’t seem to be as flexible

Thank You!
