I'm planning to run new coax for the vhf antenna up the mast and was wondering if anyone had any tips. Also wondering if the cable is secured inside the mast in any way or will it be fairly straight forward to use the old cable to pull the new down through the mast? I'm planning to secure the end of the new cable to the old cable using the center conductor and then taping and probably putting a piece of heat shrink over the connection to keep it as smooth as possible to keep it from getting hung up in the mast. Hoping to be able to do this with the mast up.
