New way to load outboard was created by Emergpa1
Wrestling the heavy new outboard I bought for our dingy, "Otterbox" was akin to loading a skittish horse into a trailer. The problem was that the motor lift crane hung the honda 9.9 to far forward and about six inches below the forward most part of the stern rail. Trying to lift and pull it into position and onto the mount was very difficult, even in calm water. In rough conditions it would have been dangerous.
What I did was extend the rail about two feet forward, and dropped the mounting rail about six inches. To add strength I used a stanchion brace. Now I can position the outboard right over the mount, and simply lower it in place. No wrestling required!
