Plastic cockpit instrument cover specs was created by MHRutstein
Our 1997 IP40 has plastic slip-in covers over the engine instruments (to starboard of the binnacle) and over a blank panel (to port). The one covering the engine instruments had small cutouts for the kill switch and ignition. Sadly the plastic is cracked in two places. My 25-yo son insists he can create replacements with his 3D printer, and we made a template, but the boat is now 1000 miles way and I was wondering if anyone knew 1) exactly what material was used for these covers, 2) what the color / brown tint was called, and 3) what the thickness of the pieces is.

I scrolled through PAGES of forum posts without finding this same query. Sorry if I missed it.

Mike,
Easiest solution to this is to take the piece to a custom glass shop in your area and tell them you would like to replace it with "tinted Lexan". They should have multiple tint, color, and size options to choose from. This is how I replaced them on my 1998 IP40. You can also use this method to replace the "glass" on the Dorade boxes if ever needed, as Island Packet no longer makes them. This is BY FAR the cheapest way I have found.

No need! We have a template. But it would be nice to know the exact thickness. I guessed it was 1/8" but some IP owners have claimed it's a bit thicker than that: .167".

I purchased bronze plexiglass on Amazon and cut the new pieces myself. you can make the edges smooth with a small kitchen torch:
