Can anyone help me find the electrical source for the compass light on an IP440? I replaced the rusted away light assembly in the compass only to find no power getting to the connectors. A search with an electronic circuit tracer was unsuccessful. Power should be coming from a blue sheathed, two conductor wire of the same type used throughout for lighting. It runs down through the binnacle, exiting aft into the lazarette with the other binnacle wiring, then takes a turn to port along the bulkhead, then down and into the lazarette bulkhead. From there ... i have not dissected my way in. I did not find in on the DC wiring schematic.
If anyone has tracked down the power source, you might save me hours in what my wife calls "the skipper's position". On hands and knees, head stuck into a hole, butt in the air.
