The stbd. rudder stop on my IP32 is completely rotted out. makes me wonder why these would have ever been made of wood but are there any ways / substitutes for the wooden rudder stops that I can upgrade with?

Mine also on an IP 31 vintage 1987. I plan to mate two pieces of treated lumber, 2 x 4"s, same pattern as the original, attaching the protective plate. Should be good for 15, 20 years.
