Does anyone know? If engine mounts were defective of loose and boat was moving forward, at high rpms, which direction would the engine want to move? forward or aft?
We had broken the port forward side engine mount. We ran for maybe a year and 1000+ miles before we found it. The motor would twist and shake more. The mount stud broke under the tang and was only found by prying up with a crow bar lifting it.
If all 4 mounts broke while motoring, the motor would push forward while in gear running forward. It would move aft in reverse. It would drag aft in neutral due to the prop dragging.
Do you see your motor moving?
Does your motor shake?
Are the mounts bottomed out?
