Lights on Mast was created by Vandergraaff
I am finding that the Bow Light and Foredeck Light on my IP 27 are intermittent. Some work is being done up the mast this week so I am thinking of having the yard take a look at these.

My hunch is that there is a small amount of corrosion or an otherwise poor connection. Does anyone have similar experiences?

Has anyone worked out a good long-term fix, other than spraying with some WD-40, reinstalling the bulb, and hoping for the best?

Thanks in advance,

I solved this on my stern light by removing the bulb and cleaning and lightly sanding all connection points (bulb and contacts in the fixture) and bending the contacts slightly to make them grip the bulb more firmly. If that doesn't work you'll probably have to trace the wire down the bow pulpit and into the V-berth to check for worn insulation etc. Good luck!

Thanks Mike,

My hunch is that the problem is with the bulb contacts, like in your case.
