110 cord repeatedly arcing

Our shore power 2 eats shore power cables. Latest cable 2 months old, Marinco Eel. A little hard to diagnose, because boat in yard, in water, but main load is March pump for 3 ac units and 2 of the 3 ac units. We did have the pump burn out. I do not believe anyone has been plugging it inand unplugging it with a load more than a couple of times, since it has not been moved in the yard. Should I replace the female receptor, or might this be a ground? Or what.

While not a marine elctrician by trade, we have owned our share of boats. My suggestion is that you very closely examine both the plugs on the cord and the outlets they plug into. We had arcing occur when there was corrosion present. Unfortunately I can't tell you if it was the male or female component that was bad, black is black and when they were toasted it was hard to tell. I have a cord at the house that is now my work cord on the hard. The female end overheated on one blade either by load or arcing and the surrounding plastic melted. I cut that end off, replaced it with a 30 amp plug from Lowes and use it to power the boat in storage. Is it possible that your AC units are loading the circuit and a little corrosion is compounding the problem?
