I have fitted one on my 485 - or should I say had it fitted.

The rigger believes the Walder should be fitted so it swings through a constant radius - in other words as the boom moves in and out it follows the same radius without shortening on lengthening the rope. It makes sense.

On my 485 I have attached the rope to the shroud tang on both sides.

This means the Walder is fixed on the boom very close to the canopy - it doesnt quite brush the canopy (thank goodness) but as I say is very close.

On the other hand Walder make no mention of this in their instructions where they suggest it should be fitted on the Vang or as close as. Unfortunately Walder dont seem to answer my emails.

I wonder what the collective wisdom is please?
