About three years ago our IP-35 rudder was discovered to be saturated with water. The rudder was completely re-built by Shelter Island Boat Yard in San Diego. The location may not be convenient to you, but they did a good job, an no problems since........I might add that is was not a cheap fix. I recall that at the time the factory would re-build the rudder, but you had to send the shaft back to FL and end up with a shipping issue and a "what to do with the boat while the rudder is gone" issue. Also, I am not sure if the factory is still prepared to do this work.
