We recently took delivery on our IP 38. During survey it was determined that the Kohler genset that was installed was spent and we decided to have a new one installed.
In researching a new gennie, I came across the Nor Pro generators specifically their navigator series..

The key factors for me selecting this generator over others:
1) the genset came with an yanmar engine, one I am familiar with which is one less thing for me to learn
2) the unit carries a 5 year warranty
3) the genset could be installed with a sound shield, which the unit we replaced did not have.. in the same location in the starboard cockpit locker.
4) Worton Creek Marina north of Rock Hall is a new authorized dealer of Nor Pro generators. (the vessel was at Gratitude in Rock Hall).
John LeCLare the Service Mgr up at Worton Creek did a great job with the install, he had to rework some things but for the better, and was able to stay within budget... all good.
