We have been making bread for 3 years on Island Spirit and this is our best recipe and the best process. No need to let the bread rise twice, this works well.
Sandwich Bread, single rise
Ingredients: In a large bowl
2 packs of rapid rise yeast
3 Tbs sugar
1 Tbs salt
3/4 cup oatmeal
6 cups bread flour (hold 1/2 cup back for kneading)
Mix dry ingredients well
Add Water & Oil
2 1/4 cups water at 120 degrees
5 Tbl oil
Directions:
1. Mix dry ingredients well
2. Add water and oil
3. Knead until smooth, add flour as needed.
4. Divide into two loaves
5. Knead and roll into loaves
6. Place in 9 x 5 bread pans, let rise until over the top. (Spray pans with pam)
7. Bake at 375 25 minutes until lightly brown on top.
Turn out and enjoy!
