I have long thought about carving ( I am a professional wood sculptor) A figurehead for my IP. I've never seen one on an IP and was wondering if anyone has any experience with adding a figurehead to your IP. I would probably check with the factory and find out their recommendtons on attachment. Thoughts?

I have never seen one on an IP, but it could easily be mounted under the bow sprit which is lined with solid wood. It also could be worked into the bob stay under the bow sprit. Make sure when you make this, that you share some photos. It could be very "salty" looking!

Two months ago mounted a carved mermaid bowspirit on DreamCatcher that my wife Gina previously had for 14 years on Sirena, her Pacific Seacraft Dania 24. Attached it first to teak wedge then to starboard then attached starboard to undersurface of bowsprit all with stainless screws. Looks great and selling of Sirena was easier on Gina as we now still have part of her boat with us. Will post picture in next day or 2.
