Most of you IPers seem to be enjoying warm southern climes, but there are still some of us here up north, and some of us are still sailing. See the attached photo taken earlier today on Long Island Sound between Mamaroneck and Hempstead. Wind from the west 17-19 kts. gusting to 27, 2-3 foot seas, air temp. 42, wind chill 33. Main double-reefed; 140% genoa furler-reefed to 90%. Crazy or what?

Our IP is on the hard and covered, but my shoulder season boat is a Cape Dory Typhoon. Yesterday was a great Ty day...10k breeze, sunny, mid 50s. Fall sailing is great in RI and lasts until Christmas. Happy Thanksgiving!
