I've been sitting out Hurricane Matthew in Portsmouth for the past week. We're ready to head south but now have learned that both the Virginia Cut and the Dismal Swamp are closed for high water and bridge repair. We have word from Oriental that power is out and roads may be flooded. And I have to assume that floating debris and shifted shoals will make a passage more difficult. Will the IC markers still be in place? We're delaying our plans for a few weeks to learn if services and fuel will be available in the damaged areas. What are others seeing in your area?
