The project of moving 11,500 photos from www.IPphotos.com and into www.IPYOA.com/photos is underway and has been for a few weeks. We hit our first challenge and that was the need for a full site engine upgrade! WHAT? Yes, we had to upgrade the old Joomla engine, and upgrade the server space, install a new Joomla 3.4 engine and then install all new versions of the apps that run this site!. All this was performed by an outstanding programmer in the UK who worked really hard on the upgrade during the 2015 Annapolis Boat Show. Every day of the boat show, we would email and solve installations and upgrade issues. It was exciting.

The new engine is now installed and running well, the server has enough new space for the import and we have solved the RSS feed issues as of this AM. NOW, we can return to the job of the photo import. With moving the boat down the ICW nearly every day, I try to work on this site in the early AM or at the end of the day. It is very interesting, the site upgrade was with a UK programmer, the RSS feed app was with a Romanian programmer and the Photo import is with a Singapore programmer.

This is the beauty of Open Source programming code like php Joomla which runs this site. I find it really challenging and very interesting work. Thank you for following along as we work on this massive project.

Thanks Hayden! I love IpPhotos. Look at it all the time when I am pondering a problem. Looking forward to seeing all the solutions to problems that have yet to occur on Blue Pearl on IPYOA.

Really appreciate all your efforts.

Thank you Glen, it is a big project and I am very close to making it all work. I had to upgrade to a new larger server and that was a little setback this week while in Wrightsville Beach, NC. Moving a web server with many sites on it to a new server went far better than expected. If you notice the exclamation mark on the first menu item, that indicates you are seeing the new server. It takes 24-72 hours for DNS servers to resolve server changes like this. Now with the new server and more room, we can continue on the import of the 11,500 photos from IPphotos, but first the set up of all those Photo Categories and Subcategories to import the photos into. That is what we are working on now.

Update:
We are progressing very well on this project and we have imported all 11.500 photos! The new application required 4 images of various sizes be created off the original source images. My programming expert in the UK wrote a script to process that. So we are actively moving forward and I am very excited with the success so far. It is looking like the goal of importing IPphotos into IPYOA will happen and it will be sooner than later. I will detail a full report once we complete this massive project.
