Our IP35 was the smallest entry in the Carib 1500 amongst the 36 yachts participating. While not a race per se you are place in one of two classes and handicaps are established. "Remedy" IP420 was the only other IP in the rally.
We were double handing and experienced some heavy weather (40+ kts wind and 20'+ seas). The boat did great and we made some repairs underway. The major issue faced was a roller furling jam and counter wrap of the genoa. By the time we finally got the genoa down, the clew was entirely gone. Major surgery was required and we got 80% of it flying again after 2 days with only stay sail and main.
Now Peacekeeper will remain in the Caribbean for at least the winter if not the year.
