If you're not familiar with - or have never attended - the Abaco Sailing Regatta in the Bahamas held each July - YOU NEED TO PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDAR.
I have attended 4 of these regattas and can highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fun destination, good-hearted racing and plenty of celebrations. The regatta normally starts with a HUGE kick off party with free food and rum punch on a small deserted island. Then the races take you from island to island as you compete, explore and celebrate throughout the regatta. The races are book-ended by our 4th of July and the Bahamian Independence Day (July 10th). Lots of culture and fun are packed into these events.
Most people don't have the time/vacation to get their boat to and from the regatta PLUS stay in the Bahamas for 10 days. So, I also offer a deal where I will deliver your boat both ways for the price of one way, plus travel in exchange for a berth and a spot racing on your boat for the duration. You get my extensive local knowledge of the area and 200K+ miles of experience sailing aboard Island Packets. I come with references and would enjoy talking to you if this sounds interesting.
