After a long adventure on the Great Lakes last year, I have to part ways with my IP27. I bought the boat in the spring of 2024 in Michigan for the sole purpose of sailing it around the state for my 50th birthday. I did that and then shipped it down to the Chesapeake, where my home port is, for ease of taking care of it and putting it on the market. This boat lived most of its life on the lakes, so none of the issues that come from salt water for all of that time.
This is a solid boat. No mechanical issues.
Hull and topside have been polished and waxed this summer - really brought out that beautiful IP color! Topside has new anti-skid on the diamond pattern.
All brightwork has been sanded, cleaned, and teak oiled (I like that classic look - ymmv)
New bottom paint this summer.
I had to replace the holding tank with a new OEM tank from Ezell Industries - the new tank is coated inside to prevent the corrosion that is so typical of these. The old tank had a small leak before I bought the boat.
Yanmar 2GM20 is in good working order. We had to put some hours on this for a lot of the trip because of unfavorable winds, and we never had any issues at all. It has been professionally maintained throughout its life. Just got a new impellor, oil, and filters. Fuel lines were replaced in 2024.
Sails and covers in great shape.
Lots of new running rigging and backups.
Raymarine Autopilot, Richie compass, depth sounder, and speed.
It doesn't have any new or fancy nav equipment - I just used a ruggedized independent GPS enabled tablet for nav.
12vdc fridge box, propane stove with two cylinders on switch, pressurized fresh water, and 120vac water heater.
Two Optima Bluetop AGMs with 400W solar and Victron Bluetooth charge controller. Kept them topped up at all times while offshore.
All interior cushions are original and in great shape.
If you're in the Middle River area and want to keep it where it's at, we own the slip and it's covered until winter haul-out (part of the sale).
Some of the pics are from June when the boat was out of the water and the mast was unstepped (for transport). The mast is back up and it's currently in the water (being sailed as often as I can get out).
