IP26 Shakedown Cruise, 2011 Very nice! Looks like a good place for a cruise. Bearboat is a fine-looking vessel. Its good to see another IP26 here. I have been trying...
A few years back I had to drop the centerboard on my 26 to repair some damage. A schematic of the CB system is on Hayden's other photo site, online here: http://bit.ly/j8F6YU
For how I sail, I have found the IP26 with a centerboard to be the almost-perfect boat: It's the biggest small boat I could find with the shallowest draft. It gets me in lots of places bigger boats can't go, yet still gives me decent upwind performance. On our trip down the Dismal Swamp Canal several years ago, we were able to go up the 3-ft-deep feeder ditch, all the way to the spillway from Lake Drummond: Something only canoes or kayaks or jonboats normally navigate.
