Photos of our dual alternator installation on Windwalker, IP420/45 owned by Ann & Sandy Coleman. Deaton Yacht Services in Oriental, NC did the alternator mount fabrication and installation. The additional alternator is a dual belt 150 amp small frame alternator. We used a small frame so that we could carry a 120 amp small frame spare that will work in either location. The two alternators will put out about 210 amps when hot. They are both controlled by a single Ample Power Next Step regulator connected to an Ample Power Energy Monitor/Controller. The start battery is charged from the house bank by an Ample Power Isolator Eliminator. Our house bank is 900 AH.
