Anchor Chain Chute

I installed a Lofrans Tigres and needed to deal with the chain pile issue. I have 275 feet of 5/16 HT chain. With the Lofrans the chain drops through the bowsprit ~ 6" forward of the aft end of the bowsprit.
I have hung a 4" pvc (sewer) pipe with opposing 60 degree fittings at each end to lead the chain drop back to the aft end of the locker and drop as high as possible. At the forward end I used nylon webbing criss-crossed and attached to the tube and the "ceiling" with screws/washers. At the aft end, I did not want to put screws into the deck and so I used a $5 piece of metal strapping (holes in a strip ~ 1 inch wide) from Home Depot to form a bridge support. The strapping bends easily and supports the weight of 5-6 feet of chain.
It seems to work well and was less that $20 plus an hour or two of quality time in the chain locker. I will "polish up" the installation if it continues to hold up. As you can see, the pile; even with 275 feet of chain; is not that high under the aft drop point.
