Additional Alternator

Additional alternator adds 210 Amp capacity to the upgraded engine alternator instead of adding a generator. Mounting bracket was super-welded to the foot of the for'd starb'd engine mount. U beam steel bracket used so there would be no flex and is super rigid for no vibration. Note that it is secured on 3 planes by anchoring it to the exhaust manifold in two locations as well as the foot. Tensioning the dual belts is easy. Cooling air from deep in the bilge was provided by two bilge blowers, one pushing cool air direct to the back of the alternator and the other pulling from a high point in the engine room with the exhaust into the lazerette. This dropped the alternator operating temp. dramatically. Note the design allows for removing the entire assembly from the engine with 5 bolts through the lower bracket and two at the heat exchanger. Also with this design the valves can be adjusted and oil changed without removing anything.
