A Place to Store Yur Shorts.

Saturday - November 10, 2007Views: 7398
Removed the factory shelf and replaced it with a wider shelf ie cabinet bottom. The vinyl covered plywood backing was split at the right vertical partition and removed back to the rear bulkhead. Mine had actually broken loose from the side of the hull. The fwd end of the cabinet is actually glassed to the hull. The plywood back was refastened by screwing it to the small hat section that the factory uses to reinforce the aft hull. The two other partitions and the top are fastened to the vinyl covered plywood with cleats. Cabinet front is just cut from 1/2" teak plywood. The bottom teak quarter round molding was glued to the front and bottom with biscuits to reinforce the joint. Doors were lip doors from Defenders which were modified and rotated to fit the available space.

The fancy fiddle was reused and provides some storage on the top of the cabinet. For a transition I included a section to house the technical library.
