Whisker Pole on IP27
These photos show the whisker pole installed on my IP27. It's a telescoping pole from Forespar. The inboard end is attached an Isomat car that travels on the track that's built into the front of the mast -- no separate track hardware is required. The outboard end clips onto a ring on the mast and is held snug to the mast with a rubber chock. The pole is pulled up and down with a continuous sheet that can be cleated down with cam cleats that face each other on the mast. The staysail topping lift does double duty as a topping lift for the pole.
