Salon Lee Cloths for Sea Candy
Sea Candy’s (IP-445) salon is very wide and spacious. This is terrific at anchor or dockside. But on a passage only the lee settee can be used as a sea berth. However, then when dropping off a large sea the “sleeping” crew has still been launched. I recycled my boat hammock, lines and hanging hardware into 2 salon lee cloths. On the 445 CC cutter deck the only convenient hammock location was across the cockpit under the bimini. This never worked well. So, I cut the hammock in two, double stitched the cut end, installed snaps and, cut off the hanging lines, and re-spliced the rigging lines. The result is a perfect solution for Sea Candy and her crew.
